Johi
You might
find it quite an usual that a youngster like me (I'm
a kid of the 90s!) digs
country music so much. But here's my story:
After
I had stopped playing the piano a couple of years
ago it seemed to
me like the "chapter music" had been
written. But when I saw
the movie "Walk The Line" I
returned to something, that I had almost
forgotten - music! I fell
in love with Johnny Cash's music and the work of
legendary guitarist Luther
Perkins, and so I began researching on
guitars and guitarist, singers and stories, pickers
and producers...
It's quite ironic that
Cash, who always was Nashville's "son-in-law" got
me hooked on 60's country. However,
I wanted to hear more great country singers, and
eventually discovered
Always Country. The first DJ I listened to
was Graywolf. I listened to him whenever I could.
And so I started requesting. I
started in May 2007, and returned in 2010, after
I'd been away for a while when
we'd had to shut our doors.
You
will find that there are hardly any barriers between
old and new country on
my shows, even though the main focus lays in
the 50s, 60s and 70s. Nevertheless, there are some
great musicians today that
keep up the good old sound from back then, that
I won't neglect!
Just
stop by and listen in on one of my shows
- you'll get the point of what sounds
alright to me, old and new! I
do appreciate your requests and am honored
to be a part of Always Country, the
web's greatest music family!
